Jo Parker

Jo is a chartered civil engineer and has worked in the utility industry for over 40 years with various UK water companies and in overseas missions. She currently works as an independent consultant specialising in the management of distribution assets. She was awarded the MBE for services to the water industry in 1995 and actively collaborates with professional organisations including the Institution of Civil Engineers and the International Water Association. Jo consults regularly for WSUP Advisory.

Fátima Mussá is the Country Manager for Mozambique, bringing over 11 years of experience in the water sector. She joined WSUP in 2020 as Programme Impact Manager before stepping into her current leadership role. A Civil Engineer by training, Fátima holds a Bachelor’s degree from Eduardo Mondlane University in Mozambique and a Master of Science in Water Science and Engineering from IHE Delft in the Netherlands. Her career has been dedicated to water resource management, hydrology, and the development of water and sanitation infrastructure. She has worked extensively as a consultant and project manager, leading key initiatives to improve access to safe water and sanitation in Mozambique’s urban areas. Beyond her role at WSUP, Fátima is also a lecturer and researcher at Eduardo Mondlane University, where she teaches hydrology, hydraulics, and hydraulic structures. Her contributions to academia and practice have positioned her as a thought leader in Mozambique’s WASH sector.

Carmen Sing Sang

Cármen Sing Sang is the Water Project Manager for WSUP in Beira, Mozambique, bringing with her nearly a decade of experience from FIPAG Beira, where she worked in both project execution and project management. During her time at FIPAG, she gained valuable expertise in the design, implementation, and maintenance of water networks, contributing to improving service delivery across Beira’s urban areas. As a civil engineer, Cármen also spent five years managing FIPAG’s first Non-Revenue Water (NRW) unit, where she developed specialist skills in District Metered Area (DMA) design and management, flow meter sizing, and network redesign aimed at improving efficiency and reducing water losses. Since joining WSUP in 2019, she has combined her strong technical background with her project management capabilities to lead water projects that strengthen utility capacity, enhance infrastructure performance, and contribute to building sustainable and resilient urban water systems for low-income communities in Mozambique.

Lesley joined WSUP in February 2021. Her role is to strengthen strategic partnerships with a focus on trusts and foundations. She has over 13 years of experience in international development including three years based in East Africa. Before joining WSUP, Lesley worked as Senior Programme Coordinator for Africa Educational Trust managing a portfolio of complex projects in East and Horn of Africa. She holds an MSc in Environmental Resource Management and Development from the University of Wales, Swansea.

Samuel is a dedicated, organized, and methodical professional with strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative spirit. He is an excellent team player, eager to learn and continuously develop new skills. Samuel joined WSUP in 2013 as a Programmes Facilitator and now serves as Project Manager, based in Kumasi, Ghana. In this role, he is responsible for the delivery of WASH infrastructure and services, as well as the establishment of effective and sustainable management models in low-income communities. Prior to joining WSUP, Samuel worked with CARE International as a Project Officer, contributing to various initiatives in education, agriculture, health, water, and sanitation. His greatest passion lies in applying his professional expertise and experience to improve the lives of others and support impactful, mission-driven organisations.

With years of experience in water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH), Aklima is a Hygiene Specialist with WSUP Bangladesh. Since joining WSUP in January 2017, she has dedicated herself to improving hygiene practices and promoting healthy behaviour change in underserved communities. With a Master's in Social Science from Rajshahi University, Aklima understands the social and cultural factors that impact hygiene behaviour. Her diverse experience in development organizations has equipped her with various skills, including program management, stakeholder engagement, policy and strategy development and capacity building. In the past, she has worked in different reputed national and international development organizations in water sanitation sector programs and training.

Pritum is an experienced Urban WASH professional with over 10 years of expertise in results measurement, evaluation, learning, knowledge management, research coordination, and both qualitative and quantitative assessment. He currently serves as the Senior International MERL Manager at WSUP, leading the monitoring and evaluation (M&E) portfolio for WSUP Bangladesh, while also overseeing in-country research activities. Pritum supports the implementation of field testing and research-related interventions, ensuring alignment with project goals and learning objectives. In his role, he regularly collaborates with a wide range of stakeholders, including internal teams, non-profit partners, universities, research institutions, and government bodies. Prior to joining WSUP, Pritum held similar roles with UK- and Netherlands-based non-profit organisations, where he led research and learning portfolios.

Emanuel is a seasoned project planning, design, and implementation specialist with over 14 years of experience. His expertise spans a wide range of areas, including research for policy influencing, WASH business modeling, monitoring and evaluation, emergency response planning, partnership management, and organizational systems strengthening. Since joining WSUP in 2016, Emanuel has held key roles, including Project Manager, Research and Policy Lead, and Kenya Country Program Coordinator. In his current position as Head of Programme Excellence, he plays a pivotal role within the Global Programmes Team, providing expert technical advice and guidance to WSUP’s country teams. He supports projects through every phase—from design and implementation to reporting—ensuring the highest standards of programmatic excellence. Emanuel’s comprehensive knowledge and hands-on experience make him a recognized subject matter expert in the WASH sector, with a deep commitment to driving impactful, sustainable solutions.
