Abdullah Al Mamun

WASH Lead

Mr. Mamun brings over 16 years of experience spanning commercial and international development organisations, with a strong focus on WASH and waste management. He has successfully managed numerous projects funded by leading donors, including USAID, UNICEF, GIZ, WASTE Netherlands, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, DFID, RVO Netherlands, ILO, among others. With deep technical expertise, Mr. Mamun has designed and implemented pro-poor, market-led WASH initiatives, demonstrating scalable solutions for urban low-income communities. He has played a pivotal role in supporting several Bangladeshi cities to establish functional public-private partnerships (PPPs) for delivering integrated WASH services to underserved and slum areas. One of his key technical innovations—the Portable Up-flow Faecal Sludge Treatment Plant—has been recognized as a highly appropriate solution for faecal sludge management (FSM) in refugee and emergency settings. Outside of work, Mr. Mamun enjoys listening to music, watching films, and exploring the outdoors on his motorbike.

Project Assistant WASH

Moshiur is a Civil Engineer with over seven years of experience in WASH, shelter, and climate-resilient infrastructure. He brings technical expertise in structural design, project management, BoQ preparation, and installation of water systems for underserved urban communities. Previously, he contributed to climate-resilient infrastructure projects under UNDP’s LIUPC Programme and supervised infrastructure works for the World Bank’s MGSP Project. Moshiur holds a Bachelor of Science degree and a Diploma in Civil Engineering, and has completed extensive training in WASH, disaster resilience, and community development. He is dedicated to advancing sustainable urban growth and inclusive development through engineering innovation and community-focused design.

SM Tamzid Al Fatah

International Communications Officer

Tamzid joins WSUP as the International Communications Officer, bringing a strong track record in multimedia storytelling, strategic communications, and donor-focused content. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Media Studies and Journalism from the University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh. Over the years, he has worked with a range of organisations, from INGOs to private businesses. Most recently, he led communications for a USAID-funded agricultural development project, sharing stories of farmers from vulnerable communities across Bangladesh who improved their lives through knowledge and determination. His experience also includes documentary filmmaking and managing campaigns for development and advocacy. Besides work, Tamzid is a dedicated movie buff with soft spots for Sci-Fi and drama. He claims to have watched more cinemas than he’s looked at the sky.

Prosper holds an Executive MBA and advanced certifications in monitoring and evaluation, reinforcing his data-driven approach to decision-making. He has successfully forged collaborations with key stakeholders, resulting in innovative solutions that benefit underserved communities. Prosper is committed to advancing WSUP's mission of improving urban water and sanitation access through sustainable business practices.

With more than five years of experience in the development and humanitarian sector, Shahriar has built expertise across procurement, supply chain, administration, logistics, stakeholder engagement, and programme operations. His career spans NGOs and consulting agencies, where he has supported impactful projects by strengthening operational systems and ensuring compliance. He believes efficient operations are a catalyst for social change, and he is committed to building inclusive and resilient development solutions. Away from work, Shahriar is an avid mountain lover and ultra-marathon runner.

Keya Audhikary

Training Officer

Keya specialises in climate change adaptation, resilience building, and WASH capacity development. She designs and facilitates training programmes, develops behaviour change materials, and strengthens the capacity of stakeholders to build water resilience in low-income urban communities. Her previous roles include developing People’s Adaptation Plans at Save the Children, supporting youth and women’s climate leadership at ActionAid, monitoring and evaluation at Uttaran, and research in wastewater treatment. Keya holds both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s in Environmental Science & Technology from Jashore University of Science & Technology. She is passionate about advancing inclusive climate solutions, promoting women’s leadership, and driving sustainable urban development.

Mohammad Habibur Rahman

Finance Manager, Bangladesh and Zambia

Habibur is a seasoned finance and administration professional with 25 years of experience in financial management, strategic planning, and organisational leadership. Based in Dhaka, he manages WSUP’s finance functions in both Bangladesh and Zambia. His career includes senior roles in national and international development organisations, notably as Deputy Director of Finance and Accounts at People-Oriented Program Implementation (POPI) and as Management Accountant at Practical Action. Most recently, he was Manager of Business Administration at Swisscontact, overseeing finance, HR, procurement, contracting, and logistics for the large-scale PRABRIDDHI project. Habibur is recognised for his integrity, leadership, and results-driven approach in managing complex development operations across Bangladesh.

Technical Specialist

Rakib is a technical specialist with over seven years of experience leading WASH and infrastructure projects in both development and humanitarian contexts. At WSUP Bangladesh, he manages the Birmingham City University–funded Solar Powered Drinking Water Project. He has previously worked with iDE, ICRC, and BRAC, delivering large-scale initiatives in water supply, sanitation, medical waste management, and hospital infrastructure upgrades. His work spans emergency responses—such as the Rohingya refugee crisis—to long-term development in Bangladesh’s coastal regions, where he partnered with the private sector to expand affordable drinking water access through market-based solutions. Rakib holds an MSc in Environmental Science and Management from the Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP) and a BSc in Civil Engineering from CUET. He is a member of the Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB), and is passionate about inclusive WASH solutions, public–private partnerships, and sustainable urban services.

Training Officer

Saeed is a development professional with nearly six years of experience in education, skills and employment, training, research, and humanitarian programming. Based in Kolaroa Municipality, he supports the implementation of a TCCF-funded project as WSUP Bangladesh’s Training Officer. Prior to joining WSUP, Saeed worked with BRAC, SOS Children’s Village, and Access Bangladesh Foundation, where he built expertise in community engagement and capacity development. He holds a Bachelor of Social Sciences (BSS) and a Master’s in Development Economics from the Department of Development Studies at the University of Dhaka. Saeed is passionate about empowering communities through skills and knowledge, and he enjoys travelling, connecting with new people, and learning from their stories.

Mahnas Nasrin Sheela

Gender and Social Inclusion Officer

Mahnas Nasrin Sheela has joined WSUP as Gender & Social Inclusion Officer. She is a development practitioner with over a decade of experience in gender, social inclusion, and community development, specifically in the WASH sector. She has served in leadership roles with BRAC, Community Development Association (CDA), and Voluntary Service Overseas (VSO). She has expertise in PSEAH, GBV policy enforcement, GESI analysis, and developing gender action plans, in addition to offering technical assistance for gender-sensitive WASH solutions. Sheela has good experience in building partnerships with government, civil society, and community organizations. Sheela did Master of Disaster Management & Climate Change from the University of Dhaka and completed a Professional course on Gender & sexuality: Diversity and Inclusion in the workplace from the University of Pittsburgh (USA), (Online).
