António Madeira Júnior is WSUP’s Water Lead in Mozambique, bringing over 25 years of experience in the water sector. He joined WSUP in 2013 after two years working with Águas da Região de Maputo, the water utility serving Maputo.

António is a specialist in the design, operation, execution, and planning of water supply systems of varying scales, with extensive knowledge spanning both urban and peri-urban contexts. His career has included working across a diverse range of sectors, including NGOs, government institutions, and private contracting.

In addition to his roles with WSUP and water utilities, António has also worked with several Mozambican construction companies, further enhancing his practical experience in water infrastructure development and service delivery. His broad expertise and in-depth understanding of Mozambique’s water challenges make him a key contributor to WSUP’s efforts to improve water services for low-income communities.
