WSUP Kenya has renewed its longstanding partnership with Nairobi City Water & Sewerage Company (NCWSC) through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The renewed collaboration marks a significant milestone in our shared commitment towards improving water and sanitation services in Nairobi, aligning with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 6, which focuses on clean water and sanitation for all.
This five-year partnership builds upon a successful 14-year history of collaboration between WSUP and NCWSC. The renewed MoU outlines a comprehensive framework for joint efforts to improve access to, and the quality of, water and sanitation services for Nairobi residents. The key areas of focus under the partnership include:
- Technical support: WSUP will provide technical expertise to align with NCWSC’s strategic plan, policies, and procedures, ensuring efficient and effective operations.
- Project support: The partners will collaborate on projects designed to expand water and sewerage services, reach more residents, and enhance service delivery.
- Capacity development: WSUP will strengthen NCWSC’s capacity through training and development programs, empowering the utility to deliver high-quality services.
- Technological innovation: The partnership will explore and implement new technologies in water and sanitation to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance service delivery.
- Consumer behaviour change: WSUP and NCWSC will work together to promote water and sanitation services, encouraging increased consumption and improved hygiene practices among residents.
